Review of Dr. Stan Montieth's Brotherhood of Darkness~ Commentary by James Fire

So begins Dr. Stan Montieth's book on this rather disturbing subject. He's spent more than thirty years researching and investigating the causes of America's moral and spiritual decline and the forces that are forging a singular world system. Something that must be understood is that "globalism, humanism and paganism" are merging forces that is and will create this system (Lucifer Rising) by indoctrinating the youth in public school systems ("he who captures the youth, captures the future"):

Before we get too deep into this subject, I feel that this must be predicated on the biblical perspective that I hold to absolutely. Why do I believe in these 'conspiracies'? Why do I give credence to their validity as forces, powers, organizations that are real and in operation today? This can best be explained by the following article FROM the MIND of FIRE (please review this short article before proceeding - and note that this was written more than five years ago. Look how much things have advanced since then!):

An A-MAZE-ING WORLD

Now, let us move on:

"It was April of 1997 and I was a 'participant' at the Global Citizenship 2000 Youth Congress in Vancouver, British Columbia. Former high-ranking United Nations official, Dr. Robert Muller, was a special guest, helping to facilitate the "visioning" process of the many students and educators in attendance. The purpose of the Congress: to formulate, through "group effort," a new public education philosophy steeped in paganism, humanism, and globalism. This new vision of education would then be refined for public consumption and integrated into the Canadian public school system. "Manly P. Hall, one of the foremost authorities on esoteric philosophy was referred to by The Scottish Rite Journal as 'Masonry's Greatest Philosopher.' In his book, The Secret Teachings of All Ages, he traced the history of esoteric societies through the ages and revealed that they have left hidden clues to their existence in pictures, woodcuts, books and architecture. You see their symbols every day, but don't recognize them."

Thus begins this book, Brotherhood of Darkness.

Due to the nature and volume of this material, I will address this issue in installments, using Dr. Monteith's book as a basis. Dr. Monteith's web ministry is called Radio Liberty and can be found at www.radioliberty.com

Also the works of Ralph Epperson (including his Review of Morals and Dogmas, a text written by Sovereign Grand Commander Albert Pike) an author and lecturer of over 30 years that I know personally and has written on the Masonic Order with research and insight of impeccable quality. I will also employ the use of A New Encyclopedia of Freemasonry by A.E. Waite, and other books as mentioned in Dr. Montieth's work under review here on The RED PILL Consortium.

This is a poem by Lord Tennyson (his biography and collective works of poetry may be found in vol. 17 of the 1966 ed. of Encyclopedia Americana):

Professor John Ruskin of Oxford University embraced Tennyson's vision and was able to convince his students of their moral obligation "to disseminate English culture and unite the world under British rule." (cited from Carroll Quigley's Tragedy and Hope: A History of the World in Our Time, The MacMillan Company, NY, 1966, pp. 130-138).

His students upon graduating entered into politics and government and in the early 1900's held key positions; they were responsible for creating and then prolonging WW I (casualties numbered over 20 million). Reason: to justify the creation of, and persuade people of the need for, the League of Nations, but without such a horrible war, there would have been little or no incentive to join such an organization. One notable individual who was key to the establishment of this (as well as other global-oriented organizations and policies) is Col. Edward Mandell House (whom we have examined before - Round Table Society; Colonel Edward M. House and His Works).

Another that embraced and helped to implement Tennyson's vision was Edward Bellamy (Looking Backward: 2000 - 1887, written in 1888) who likewise embraced socialism and world government, and made it known in his book. In it he anticipated a credit driven economy complete with credit cards, global corporations of business, monopolies and cartels assuming world wide power, and more.

Bellamy Clubs began sprouting up all across the United States shortly after his book was published. As the movement for socialism and world government grew, certain wealthy men "...embraced Bellamy's concepts, among them Andrew Carnegie who didn't believe in free enterprise [but rather in] monopoly capitalism which allows those of great wealth to use government to exploit others", and where socialism as he envisioned it was led by a ruling class.

Carnegie eventually sold U.S. Steel and then funded several foundations that would be used to transform society and promote world government (Triumphant Democracy, Charles Scriber's Sons, NY 1893, pp. 530 - 49).

The goal to move America into global government is not new. It was the goal of many British aristocrats, specifically Cecil Rhodes* and industrialist Andrew Carnegie, along with the Pilgrim Society (More on Cecil Rhodes in the above articles from The RED PILL Consortium; of particular note are some video clips: "Cecil Rhodes and the Round Table Groups" from conspiracyrealitytv.com).

* Cecil John Rhodes endeavors for a world government was well known among his followers and members of the 'arcane societies'; he laid out the plan for such in 1877 in the unification of the Anglo-Saxon rule. While he realized that the acquisition of his goal would outlive him, he dedicated his life to that cause and recruited others to carry on his program. He was another that heard the lectures of Professor Ruskin, "wrote them down in longhand and carried them with him the rest of his life."

Why should we not form a secret society with but one object, the furtherance of the British Empire. for the bringing of the whole uncivilized world under British rule, for the recovery of the United States, for the making [of] the Anglo-Saxon race but one Empire . . ."

In his book, Triumphant Democracy, Carnegie wrote:

"Let men say what they will, I say that as surely as the sun in the heavens once shone upon Britain and America united, so surely is it one morning to rise, to shine upon, to greet again the reunited states—the British-American Union."

Another advocate of this "Federation of the world" stated 100 years after this:

"The world of law will not be attained by exhortation . . . Let us not kid ourselves that we can have a new world order without paying for it in blood as well as in money. Remember those lines of Tennyson that Churchill called 'the most wonderful of modern prophecies' and that Harry Truman carried in his wallet throughout his life [then quotes Tennyson's poem]." ~ Arthur Schlesinger Jr.

Truman signed the United Nations Charter well aware that the U.N. was designed to become the world government, then he ceded control of Eastern Europe and China to the communists which caused public outrage and questioning; he then "plunged us into a no-win war in Asia."
General MacArthur complained to a congressman that Truman wasn't going to allow him to win the war, which won the General's dismissal by the President (Reminiscences by Douglas MacArthur, McGraw-Hill Book Co., NY, 1964, p. 375).

President Truman's involvement in bringing Communism to China has been well documented elsewhere so we will not get into it here (Dr. Stan covers much of this in his book); suffice it to say that such actions are not merely questionable, but objectionable and is an action that has been repeated throughout U.S. history by various Presidents concerning various regimes and bringing hardships and devastation to countless millions. The question is: WHY? and it's a most important question that requires answering.

Moving on to the second chapter (and the main body of this work) of Brotherhood of Darkness, we find the following quote in the opening paragraph:

" . . . the Trilateral Commission . . . is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the political government of the United States." ~ Senator Barry Goldwater, With No Apologies, William Morrow and Co. Inc., NY, 1979, p. 280.

Senator Goldwater was persuaded that the Trilateral Commission was the vehicle by which serviceable chaos would be utilized for the development of a new order and global government. There are others that have been equally convinced that it's the International and, or Central (or even Jewish in a kind of 'Jew World Order') Bankers that are the culprits.

The 180 Film - 33 minutes to a total turn around on the abortion issue

I'm posting a link to this incredible film '180' - a 33 minute documentary with Ray Comfort as he interviews people on the street about the history of Adolf Hitler, WW II, the Holocaust, and then relates the morals and ethical behavior and their implications to the issues with abortion.

I myself could have been a victim of abortion as I was born pre-maturely with a host of congenital defects, and at seven months of age, my mother began hemorrhaging and rushed to the hospital.

Doctors there in the delivery room were seriously considering aborting me in order to save my mother's life. I am ever grateful that the LORD was watching over the both of us that day, because we both survived...

And I am glad to be alive! How many of the over 50 million souls, whose infant bodies were aborted, would have like to say as much?

Now we continue with this article to expose Brian McLaren (Why he needs exposing is a valid question as his statements are so blatant, one would think such would not even be necessary! However given the day in which we live when discernment is in such a (needlessly!) short supply, we shall proceed!) and his falsehoods which he promotes in his books as well as speaking engagements.

Take note, that given his background, his education, the church that he helped found, it stands to reason why he would believe as he does, when one examines the fruit of his life, as represented in his books, articles and conference speaking engagements.

The LORD Jesus Christ said,

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

There are those that would say that we have no right to judge any one, even Brian McLaren and others that espouse liberal, post-modern, and emergent style doctrines. However if we are to "know them" by their fruit, this means that we must discern or judge what kind of fruit it is that they're bearing.

Some might say, "Well I take only the good stuff. Any of the bad, I leave alone." Or, "When chewing the meat, I spit out the bones." and "You can't throw the baby out with the bathwater."

Yet the LORD told us, that a corrupt tree CAN'T bear good fruit! If some of the fruit is perceived as corrupt, it's because the tree itself is corrupt and if the tree is corrupt, looking for good fruit among the bad is an exercise in futility!

DHS Scoping Out Right Wing Extremists?
April 12, 2009:

"WASHINGTON – A newly unclassified Department of Homeland Security report warns against the possibility of violence by unnamed "right-wing extremists" concerned about illegal immigration, increasing federal power, restrictions on firearms, abortion and the loss of U.S. sovereignty and singles out returning war veterans as particular threats."

Let's look at some of the evidence we have of the U.S. government's intentions to establish the infrastructure that could be used to house large numbers of political dissidents, so-called terrorists and other individuals the U.S. government wants locked up. HR 645 the National Emergency Centers Establishment Act is a proposed bill in the U.S. House of Representatives that would authorize FEMA to build no less than six National Emergency Centers throughout the U.S. on closed or open military facilities. These facilities are to be designed to house large numbers of people.

Why would emergency centers need to be built on closed or open military facilities unless there was a need to keep people from coming in and out of them? KBR was granted a government contract a few years ago to build facilities to house illegal immigrants. Now with illegal immigration becoming less of a problem with the U.S. economy in the toilet, these facilities can now be used for other purposes.

"This is just another step in the U.S. government's long term plan to build the infrastructure that could be used to contain wide spread popular revolt. Combine this with the swine flu fear mongering and the potential for a mass swine flu vaccination operation and it is easy to see what might happen. Refuse to take their poisonous vaccine and you might risk being locked up as being a hazard to public safety. With more and more people not trusting either political party or the corporate media, the 'powers that be' realize that they need to continue building their martial law apparatus.

These Army National Guard job listings are just another piece to that puzzle proving what we already know is being built," the editorial claimed.
At the Examiner, a commentator wrote, "Correctional/internment facilities?"

The earlier DHS report was "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment." WND has posted the report online for readers to see.
The report linked returning veterans with the possibility of terrorism, and when it was released it created such a furor for Napolitano she has given several explanations for it, including that she would have reworded the report and that it was issued by a rogue employee.
She later apologized to veterans for having linked them to terror.

But Thompson noted that the report also targeted as "potential terrorists" Americans who:

-Oppose abortion
-Oppose same-sex marriage
-Oppose restrictions on firearms
-Oppose lax immigration laws
-Oppose the policies of President Obama regarding immigration, citizenship, and the expansion of social programs
-Oppose continuation of free trade agreements
-Are suspect of foreign regimes
-Fear Communist regimes
-Oppose a "one world" government
-Bemoan the decline of U.S. stature in the world
-Are upset with loss of U.S. manufacturing jobs to China and India, and more

Thompson told WND no apology has been offered to the members of any of those classes of citizens.

“To a biologist the question of when life begins for a human child is almost meaningless, since life is continuous and has been since it first began on Earth several billion years ago,” wrote the Ehrlichs and Holdren. “The precursors of the egg and sperm cells that create the next generation have been present in the parents from the time they were embryos themselves. To most biologists, an embryo (unborn child during the first two or three months of development) or a fetus is no more a complete human being than a blueprint is a building.

The biologists have some re-thinking to do then; obviously a baby in or out of the womb is more than a blue print. It's a complete human being biologically speaking, and all it requires is the same as any human being requires: air, water, food, and other less essential needs. A blue print can never become a building because all it is, is paper and ink (or a computer graphic); it will never develop into steel, concrete, glass, electrical wiring, etc. etc.

Human DNA, on the other hand, the very blueprint of life engineered by our Creator, has the stuff inherent in its very code and materials to become a human being; no further genetic information is necessary for this to occur, merely mitosis and specialization of genetic material which is programmed to occur within the DNA itself!

A baby however will become a more mature human being as it learns and develops emotionally, intellectually, socially, and morally; nevertheless, it's still a human being and not an orange, a salmon, or a chimpanzee!

Any talk to the contrary is an attempt to de-humanize human beings as to make certain "solutions" of termination more palatable, just as they were in Europe, and specifically in Germany in the 1930's and 40's.

“From the standpoint of the terminated fetus, it makes no difference whether the mother had an induced abortion or a spontaneous abortion,” write the Ehrlichs and Holdren. “On the other hand, it subsequently makes a great deal of difference to the child if an abortion is denied, and the mother, contrary to her wishes, is forced to devote her body and life to the production and care of the child.

In Sweden, studies were made to determine what eventually happened to children born to mothers whose requests for abortions had been turned down. When compared to a matched group of children from similar backgrounds who had been wanted, more than twice as many as these unwanted youngsters grew up in undesirable circumstances (illegitimate, in broken homes, or in institutions), more than twice as many had records of delinquency, or were deemed unfit for military service, almost twice as many had needed psychiatric care, and nearly five times as many had been on public assistance during their teens."

Articles abound showing that abortion has done nothing to curtail child abuse or relieve any child's developmental needs for a secure home life, an intact family with a father and a mother; psychological health, or public assistance. Here is just one of dozens:

"Pro-abortionists have suggested that legal abortions, by reducing the number of "unwanted" pregnancies, reduce the incidence of child abuse since every child born will be wanted and loved. However, since abortion became legal, the incidence of child abuse has increased!"

The Ehrlichs and Holdren then chide opponents of abortion for condemning future generations to an “overcrowded planet.” “Those who oppose abortion often raise the argument that a decision is being made for an unborn person who ‘has no say,’” write the authors. “But unthinking actions of the very same people help to commit future unheard generations to misery and early death on an overcrowded planet.”

An overcrowded planet? What justification is there for making this allegation?
A starving world? There is enough food in the USA to provide for the needs of the world's hungry, but in countries that seek dominance over their population, such charitable offerings of food supplies are left to rot on the docks, or taken by the power elite of those nations, while the masses continue to starve.

You could take all Americans, relocate them to Oregon, give each family a 2 acre plot, and we would all fit! Or the entire planet's population could fit snugly within the confines of a land mass no bigger than the state of Texas!

Overcrowed cities? Considering the demographics of the planet, most overcrowding is within city limits of major cities. The surrounding lands are quite habitable, and can accomodate a population several times of what it is today!

Not enough jobs to go around? Our economy is being crippled by such organizations as WTO which provides through our own government the re-location of jobs offshore, denying Americans jobs and giving them to foreigners, instead of those same foreign nations developing better economics on their own. Seriously heavy tax proposals on oil production domestically will put many private companies out of business.

Above all, the FEDERAL RESERVE is the biggest culprit for strangling our economy with its fiat currency. Probably 80% of our economic woes could be alleviated with the disbanding of this non-governmental agency!

With the Middle East still in chaos and rumors of war in the air, the idea of rebuilding the Jerusalem Temple on a foundation occupied and administered by Islamic militants might seem fanciful – even preposterous.

But the author of a new book The Islamic Antichrist returned from Turkey recently with news that a prominent Islamic teacher and best-selling author and Jewish Sanhedrin rabbis are hoping to do just that. In a column penned in WND today, author Joel Richardson reveals the historically unprecedented development.

Needless to say that things are turning rather grim, the woman in travail is experiencing contractions now at a substantially accelerated rate. At the risk of repeating myself redudantly, it's certainly time for believers to wake up and see the landscape as things really are; and to drop to our knees, submit ourselves to the Holy Will of God, turn from any wicked way within us, and turn wholly to a Holy God.

The bride of Christ must prepare herself with linen, clean and white, the sanctified righteousness of the saints. Mortify the flesh, walk in God's Spirit, and yearn for holiness with all our hearts.

Corruptions of the Roman Catholic Church: Beware Jesuit Infiltrations Into Evangelical Churches

I want to make this abundantly clear so as to assuage any suspicions that I am a 'Roman Catholic basher', or even one who is necessarily opposed to Calvary Chapel ministries. My desire is not to bash, to criticize, to belittle or to speak disparagingly of any church or church organizations and affiliations. I can tell you that my hearts desire, my fervent, zealous, adamant desire is to tenaciously cling to the Word of God, to herald its Truth with confrontation as necessary towards those promoting lies and half-lies (knowingly or otherwise), and to hold fast its doctrines and to practice them by God's enabling grace and empowering Spirit. Perhaps it's unnecessary to speak of the apostasy (the falling away from the faith in God's Word) these days; any Christian who even occasionally opens their Bible and is aware of what's in the news via TV, newspapers, newsletters, magazines and Internet is at least somewhat aware that the church of Jesus Christ is committing compromises with non-Biblical organizations and religious bodies, that the church is being flooded with heresies and deceptive spiritual experiences which are empowered by demonic spirits (1 Tim. 4:1) This shouldn't surprise us, but it should (and does) grieve us that the church has fallen into such a deplorable state of carnality, deception and embracing false teachings with little or no discernment exercised to "test the spirits" (1 John 4:1). It is out of a love for God and His sheep, and a desire to warn the LORD's flock against such "perilous" dangers (2 Tim. 3:1) that I write this article. Those who are biblically literate understand that most of the dogmas of the Roman Catholic church are extra-biblical, that is, beliefs and practices whose foundation are not derived from the Holy Scriptures. It is because teachers and pastors of high regard, who know the Word of God, and have taught it faithfully for decades, and whose ministries have blossomed incredibly across the nation, and even across the globe, that I am astonished and dismayed at these recent, and many past developments. Saturday morning on June 25th, I received an email from co-writer Anne Kisly of The TRUTH Under FIRE ministry; it was an article written by Roger Oakland regarding "a high officer in the Vatican’s Jesuitical, 'Knights of Malta'. William "Jerry" Boykin, former commander of the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center Special Forces Psychological Operations . . ." The Order of Malta is a religious order of the Vatican. Jerry Boykin holds the title of Grand Chancellor with the Vatican’s Jesuitical, “Knights of Malta”. Who are the Jesuits, you might ask, and what is the mission of their Order? "The Jesuit order, otherwise known as the Society of Jesus (S.J.), has been the military enforcement arm of the Catholic Church since it was first founded by Ignatius of Loyola of Spain in 1534 during the reign of Pope Paul III, ostensibly to combat Protestant heresy. And while many feel that the Jesuits are only a sub-order of the Roman Catholic Church and are merely seekers and disseminators of knowledge, they have a much darker history that many people do not know about. It is quite obvious that if a Jesuit of a higher Order takes such a vow, then someone holding one of the highest rank and title of Grand Chancellor with the Vatican’s Jesuitical, “Knights of Malta” would take this oath, and or similar oaths swearing allegiance to the Roman Catholic Church and no other authority. Do we know this for sure? Having said this, I believe that the Calvary Chapel movement is at a definitive 'fork in the road', and each fellowship from the congregation to the leadership must be very careful and discerning as to which of these two roads they traverse. Some Calvarys are remaining true to the Word of God, teaching it faithfully: this is orthodoxy, or correct teaching and knowledge. Some of these are likewise conducting themselves in accordance to the Word of God so that they are not only teaching it correctly, they are practicing the Word of God in their every day lives, or "walking the talk" as it were: this is orthopraxy, or correct and upright living. There are other Calvary's that are cozying up to and associating with authors, teachers, and pastors who are either of the Emergent Church Movement or friendly towards it, and since the Emergent Church Movement can be simply boiled down to apostasy, plain and simple, this association is not only unwise, its blatantly unbiblical! * *(For those who still happen to not know or understand what the emergent church movement is all about, simply type that phrase into any of the search engines of all three sites: The TRUTH Under FIRE or its two sister sites, FROM the MIND of FIRE or this one, The RED PILL Consortium.) How could these churches go astray in such a manner as this? What influences have they been subjected to that would sway them towards such a movement, that in itself is steering formerly biblical churches and Christians towards an identification with New Age and Roman Catholic beliefs and practices? Perhaps they had some help of the Jesuit sort? (Please note that not only is this retired Army Lt. General a Jesuit, but also Rick Joyner from Morning Star ministries is as well. Joyner and Morning Star are blatantly unbiblical and his association as a Jesuit to the Pope may not be altogether surprising, but it's well worth noting, and perhaps indicative of the Jesuits mission to cause division and havoc among evangelicals) - JERRY BOYKIN and the CALVARY CHAPEL Connection The above article will have a link that will direct you to something called The Oak Initiative which Rick Joyner (as President) and Boyken are leaders of. Under their "Our Purpose" tab, you will find words such as "shift" and "change-agents" which are New Age/Emergent terms. That, and the fact that Joyner and Boyken are leaders (Jesuits both) tells me that this Oak Initiative is a tree that God's axe will bring low and cast down as a bad-bearer of fruit or bearing no good fruit at all! To date, Greg Laurie still works together with and makes contributions to Rick Warren's ministry and while the Worship Conference hosted at the facilities of CC Albuquerque did not have Leonard Sweet as a speaker, he was still an attendant to the conference. Lt. General Boykin, a.k.a. Jesuit is also involved in speaking at Epicenter Conferences with Joel Rosenberg (one of which was just completed last year about this time), as are various Calvary Chapel pastors as can be seen at the following link: Epicenter Conference 2010 Here is Boyken speaking at an Oak Initiative Conference. Everything he says seems to be very good, doesn't it? He seems to be a very convincing Christian man of biblical convictions. Is he conflicted in his vows as a Jesuit? Or does he not adhere to his Jesuit vows? Or is he speaking with the intent of subterfuge, an M.O. that Jesuits regularly employ as documented in their own vows? Gen. Boykins Speaking Itinerary at Calvary Chapels Needless to say Boyken seems readily welcome to speak at Calvary Chapels. If he takes his vows of the Jesuitical Orders seriously, and he must, otherwise he would be stricken from those Orders and his rank as Grand Chancellor would be revoked - or worse, then his mission according to these Orders is clear. If leadership in the Calvary Chapel movement was unknowing about this man's Jesuit vows, they aren't any longer; Roger Oakland's Understand The Times and other Christians in ministry such as Chris Pinto and Lighthouse Trails ministry as well as their readers have no doubt brought this to the attention of Calvary Leadership (as I certainly will do locally here). However, let us for the moment suppose for the sake of argument that such ancient Jesuitical vows have been obsoleted - that Jesuits no longer spy, conspire, even assasinate for the sake of acquisition of increased power in the Roman Catholic church; that such activities are from a by gone era, never to be re-visited... Suppose Jesuits are only scholars, educators and high ranking priests - they are still Roman Catholics who are sworn to safeguard and uphold the dogma of that institution. Why then would such a one be allowed to serve along side of biblically oriented pastors when their theologies are opposed if in fact the pastors of Calvary are in the know regarding Boyken? Or, what will be their response once they discover the true religious nature of this man? For any who doubt that Roman Catholic dogma is that far off the mark, I refer you to the writings of Dave Hunt, in particularly his highly researched and documented book A Woman Rides The Beast (you can find this book and other resources on Mr. Hunt's and T.A. McMahon's web site: www.thebereancall.org) In light of this, the response of the leadership is yet to be seen. I shudder to think that the leadership may actually be cognizant, only too aware of Boykens loyalty to the Jesuit Order; but would they then understand that the Jesuit Order's mission as originally conceived is still intact and operative? This is why its vital that we pray for the leadership and ask God's intervention to bring everything to light about Boyken and on those grounds dismiss him from any and all association with Calvary Chapel or any other Christian ministries. As a Jesuit and a high ranking leader himself in the Roman Catholic Church, we who are watching understand that this enormous, wealthy and also far-reaching in its influences institution has the intent of corralling not just Christian denominations and fellowships (including Calvary Chapel ministries) under her wings, but also all religions in order to form a unified, global consortium, eventually leading to what the Bible has declared for thousands of years, a one world religion that is inimicable to biblical Christianity (See Revelation ch. 17 and 18, esp. 17:3-6; 18:2-5). We have seen this repeatedly through the works of the previous Pope, John Paul II and his invitations for religious leaders to join with him for prayer for world peace and cooperation among their respective religions, which began in 1986 and has continued with the present Pope Benedict XVI. World Religions for World Peace The non-obvious (for those who don't carefully research its direction and ideology) intention of the Emergent Church Movement is to likewise condition evangelical and biblical Christians to becoming more tolerant and accepting of those practices and policies represented in this papal religion. Could we possibly see Calvary Chapel as a movement becoming associated with Roman Catholicism, if only in friendly dialogue if not outright alliance? I pray that this will not happen! On another related note, discernment and apologetic ministries are keenly aware, as are all biblically-literate Christians (they are becoming extremely uncommon in our day, sadly!) of the false doctrines of Dominionism, but what we sometimes don't appreciate is that this idea started with the Roman Catholic church! The idea that we must "take back" from the heathen 'unbelievers' that which rightly belongs to God, and establish His godly rule on Earth - with that rulership being wielded by the Pope of course! This eventual 'taking back' the entire globe for establishing Christ's (or more precisely, the 'vicar of Christ' i.e., the Pope) kingdom on Earth gels completely with a one world government and religion. Christ plainly declared that His kingdom is not "of [from]this world" but that He Himself would establish it - not the church or any pseudo-Christian institution! You may or may not be aware that yet another Jesuit has assumed the role of chaplain for the House of Representatives: "A Jesuit will be sworn in as the 60th chaplain of the House of Representatives on May 25, when he will become the first member of his order and second consecutive Catholic priest to serve the House. As chaplain, the Rev. Patrick Conroy will be in charge of opening House sessions with prayer, coordinating guest chaplains, counseling members of the House community . . ." “I am also humbled by the confidence my Jesuit superiors are demonstrating in making me available to answer this call to serve the People’s House,” Conroy added (emphasis mine). So we see, perhaps only what is the proverbial tip of the iceberg in the Jesuit involvment in America, both currently and historically. It would seem that this Order is infiltrating and its members masquerading as 'right wing', conservative Christians who are patriotic towards America and rallying people in a great number of churches towards a call of 'reclaiming America'. Reclaiming it for who though? one must ask. In this last article much of this is addressed and you can read more about Rick Joyner, Jerry Boykin and others that are associated with this 'great work'. Rob Bell's latest book LOVE WINS had gotten a lot of coverage, and its thematic presentation of the Gospel or more precisely "another Gospel which is not another Gospel" has further defined and clarified the followers of biblical truth from those of emergent falsehoods.

During any major sporting event, if we miss the televised program, we will ask someone after the fact, "Who won?" and once we find this out, the following question of "What was the final score?" is usually asked; because we want to know not only who won, but by how much.

In LOVE WINS, Bell presents the idea that God wins all, a sort of 'shut out' on souls between the contest of God and Satan. There is no one that goes to hell (except for a kind of hell of their own making here on Earth by refusing the Gospel and not allowing the work of 'Christ' into their lives), or at least their experience there is short lived; that is to say, they may be in hell for a while, but in the end, love wins and all souls eventually are redeemed (an idea originally promoted by none other than Origen, who himself was either Gnostic or heavily influenced by that Grecian philosophy [I believe the former]).

Christian Universalism

God's love is seemingly measured by the numbers, that somehow the Divine expression of agapeo love (to be selflessly committed and devoted to another with no regard for oneself and whose unconditional service looks for no return) is glorified by the idea that no one is lost or condemned.

However God's love is manifestly measured by the sacrifice that God Himself committed to, in the Person of His Son Jesus Christ and His atonement that paid for our sins by dying on the cross.

This is the singular method of salvation, and those who would seek redemption from their lost condition must come to the Father through the Son, for there is no other way to heaven but by Jesus and through His Name (JOHN 14:6; ACTS 4:10-12).

The explicit submission to, and belief in Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Messiah of Israel is required in order to acquire salvation. Bell suggests that Christ's salvation reaches further than the domain of Christians, that Muslims while remaining Muslims, Hindus while remaining Hindus, etc. can be saved by an amorphous assent and credence to Christ (and where such 'belief' is expressed "Jesus" is usually deleted from His title of "Christ"), and thus while God's love for such sinners is abundant and enduring up until the time of the Judgment, it's not received other than by His Son and the way of the cross. Such love is lost on them for they reject it by rejecting the pure and true Gospel.

Let's have a look at what Ken Silva has to say about this book by Bell:

"Sadly, mainstream evangelicalism became spiritually spineless and embraced the sinfully ecumenical neo-liberal cult of the Emergent Church aka the Emerging Church, now upgraded to 2.0 with its newer, more clearly delineated, postmodern Progressive Christian theology, which these rebels against the final authority of the Word of God will often refer to under their circus 'big tent' as Emergence Christianity.

"Years of poisoning its own young by using EC teachings in their Young Adult and Youth groups has opened the door for its pro-gay agenda and its non-gospel of universalism right within the heart of younger sectors of evangelicalism. That’s why lately I’ve been giving you peeks at its bleak future of division and compromise of God’s Word; and for nearly six years now, in articles like Is Rob Bell Evangelical? and Rob Bell Is Definitely Not Like Jesus, I’ve been warning you that Bell’s doctrine is not at all in line with the historic orthodox Christian faith."

Tim Challies quotes Rob Bell's book (Tim Challies and Aaron Armstrong read an advanced copy), Love Wins and shows what he truly believes regarding salvation through Jesus Christ and the meaning of the cross for the people of all religions (for a look at Mr. Challies article on Love Wins, visit the following site - Tim Challies Review of Love Wins):

"As soon as the door is opened to Muslims. Hindus, Buddhists, and Baptists from Cleveland, many Christians become very uneasy, saying that then Jesus doesn’t matter anymore, the cross is irrelevant, it doesn’t matter what you believe, and so forth.
"Not true. Absolutely, unequivocally, unalterably not true."

"What Jesus does is declare that he, and he alone, is saving everybody."

MATT 7:13-14 
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

"People come to Jesus in all sorts of ways." Refer back to John 14:6; the one that leads people to Jesus has been, and always will be the Father as well as the Holy Spirit:

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

…"Some people have so much baggage with regard to the name 'Jesus' that when they encounter the mystery present in all of creation—grace, peace, love, acceptance, healing, forgiveness—the Creation as we now know it is in a fallen state - all of creation groans and travails to be delivered from the bondage [of sin] that it's in. Creation does not demonstrate God's grace, or peace, love, acceptance, healing or forgiveness. Nature can be as deadly and indiscriminate as a nuclear blast with its myriad tornados, earthquakes, pestilences, etc.

ROM 8:21-22 
Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
…
"What we see Jesus doing again and again—in the midst of constant reminders about the seriousness of following him living like him, and trusting him—is widening the scope and expanse of his saving work."

This work is the work of the Gospel which alone is the answer for redemption and this is what must reach this lost, blind, corrupt and fallen world in ever widening parameters; but what we are seeing rather is a widening intolerance for the Biblical Gospel and the Truth, and widening heresies and apostasy taking its place.

ROM 1:16-17 
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
...
"The plot has been lost, and it’s time to reclaim it." (Preface, vi)

The Gospel has never been lost, it is not lost, nor will it ever be lost; the Gospel is everlasting and cannot be abrogated by the religion of man -

REV 14:6 
¶And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

"A staggering number of people have been taught that a select few Christians will spend forever in a peaceful, joyous place called heaven, while the rest of humanity spends forever in torment and punishment in hell with no chance for anything better…. This is misguided and toxic (emph. mine) and ultimately subverts the contagious spread of Jesus’ message of love, peace, forgiveness, and joy that our world desperately needs to hear. (ibid)" Refer back to MATT. 7:13-14; also -

REV 5:9 
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

ROM 8:9 
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

JOHN 1:12-13 
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God....

"Will everybody be saved, or will some perish apart from God forever because of their choices? Those are questions, or more accurately, those are tensions we are free to leave fully intact. We don’t need to resolve them or answer them because we can’t, and so we simply respect them, creating space for the freedom that love requires. (p.115)"

Ken Silva responds to these statements and beliefs of Bell:

And now to Kevin DeYoung who summarized much of what Bell believes in the following:

"Hell is what we create for ourselves when we reject God’s love. Hell is both a present reality for those who resist God and a future reality for those who die unready for God’s love. Hell is what we make of heaven when we cannot accept the good news of God’s forgiveness and mercy. But hell is not forever. God will have his way. How can his good purposes fail? Every sinner will turn to God and realize he has already been reconciled to God, in this life or in the next.

"There will be no eternal conscious torment. God says no to injustice in the age to come, but he does not pour out wrath (we bring the temporary suffering upon ourselves), and he certainly does not punish for eternity…"

Mr. DeYoung comments:

In the blog buzz leading up the release of Love Wins, there was a lot of discussion about whether Bell is or is not a Christian Universalist. After reading the book, I see no reason why the label does not fit. Now it’s true, Bell believes in hell.

But he does not believe that God pours out his wrath on anyone forever (I’m not sure he thinks God actively pours out wrath on anyone at all). Hell is the sad suffering of this life (p.71). Hell is God giving us what we want (p.72). Postmortem hell is what we create for ourselves when we refuse to believe God’s story, when we resist his love (pgs.170-71, 172, 177). There is hell now and hell later.

Here is another quote by Bell:

“There are all kinds of hell because there are all kinds of ways to reject the good and the true and the beautiful and the human now, in this life, and so we can only assume we can do the same in the next” (p.79).

DeYoung comments further:

So why do I say Bell is a Universalist if he believes in hell? Because he does not believe hell lasts forever. It is a temporary “period of pruning” and “an intense experience of correction” (p.91). Bell’s hell is like purgatory except his “period of pruning” is for anyone, not just for Christians who die in a state of grace as Catholicism teaches…

At the very heart of this controversy, and one of the reasons the blogosphere exploded over this book, is that we really do have two different Gods. The stakes are that high. If Bell is right, then historic orthodoxy is toxic and terrible. But if the traditional view of heaven and hell are right, Bell is blaspheming. I do not use the word lightly, just like Bell probably chose “toxic” quite deliberately. Both sides cannot be right.

As much as some voices in evangelicalism will suggest that we should all get along and learn from each other and listen for the Spirit speaking in our midst, the fact is we have two irreconcilable views of God.

DeYoung's approach to addressing the errors of Love Wins is dealt with by looking at seven areas: Bell’s view of traditional evangelical theology, history, exegesis, eschatology, Christology, gospel, and God:

God Is Still Holy and What You Learned in Sunday School Is Still True: A Review of “Love Wins”

DeYoung states:

These are strange sentences because they fall in the chapter where Bell argues that God wants everyone to be saved and God gets what God wants. He tells us that “never-ending punishment” does not give God glory, and “God’s love will eventually melt even the hardest hearts” (p.108). So it’s unclear where the sudden agnosticism comes from. Is Bell wrestling with himself? Did a friend or editor ask him to throw in a few caveats? Is he simply inconsistent?

Similarly, at the end Bell argues, rather out of the blue, that we need to trust God in the present, that our choices here and now “matter more than we can begin to imagine” because we can miss out on rewards and celebrations (p.197). This almost looks like an old-fashioned call to turn to Christ before it’s too late. When you look more carefully, however, you see that Bell is not saying what evangelicals might think. He wants us to make the most of life because “while we may get other opportunities, we won’t get the one right in front of us again” (p.197). In other words, there are consequences for our actions, in this life and in the next, and we can’t get this moment back; but there will always be more chances. If you don’t live life to the fullest and choose love now, you may initially miss out on some good things in the life to come, but in the end love wins (pgs.197–198).

We've heard from Ken Silva, Tim Challies and Kevin DeYoung; now we turn to two articles written by Al Mohler, the latter of which he answers Brian McLaren, another Emergent, who comes to the aide of his colleague and friend, Rob Bell in defense from Mohler's supposedly effrontery.

In his first article entitled We Have Seen All This Before: Rob Bell and the (Re)Emergence of Liberal Theology, Dr. Mohler writes on the emergence of emergent church perspectives:

"For the last twenty years or so, a movement identified as emerging or emergent Christianity has done its determined best to avoid speaking with specificity (emph. mine). Leading figures in the movement have offered trenchant criticisms of mainstream evangelicalism. Most pointedly, they have accused evangelical Christianity, variously, as being excessively concerned with doctrine, culturally tone-deaf, overly propositional, unnecessarily offensive, aesthetically malnourished, and basically uncool.

"Many of their criticisms hit home — especially those rooted in cultural concerns — but others betrayed what can only be described as an awkward relationship with orthodox Christian theology. From the very beginning of the movement, many of the emerging church’s leaders called for a major transformation in evangelical theology."

Mohler continues: "And yet, even as many of these leaders insisted that they remained within the evangelical circle, it was clear that many were moving into a post-evangelical posture. There were early hints that the direction of the movement was toward theological liberalism and radical revisionism (emph. mine), but the predominant mode of their argument was suggestion, rather than assertion.

Rather than make a clear theological or doctrinal assertion, emerging figures generally raise questions and offer suggestive comments. Influenced by postmodern narrative theories, most within the movement lean into story rather than formal argument. Nevertheless, the general direction seemed clear enough. The leading emerging church figures appeared to be pushing Protestant Liberalism –just about a century late."

In this excellent article Mohler points out that this 'new' book by Rob Bell (someone that he compares with Harry Emerson Fosdick, liberal pastor of International Riverside Church in New York City, a church regularly sponsored by the Rockefellers) simply reiterates and re-institutes the old fashioned theological liberalism of over a century ago that expresses a denial of hell, that supports the view that salvation is attainable post-mortem; he rejects the idea that a person must come to a personal knowledge of Christ in this life in order to be saved. “What if the missionary gets a flat tire?” he asks.Dr, Mohler documents Bell's view of universal salvation by the following beliefs of the Love Wins author:

But this is how Rob Bell deals with the Bible. He argues that the gates that never shut in the New Jerusalem [REV 21:25] mean that the opportunity for salvation is never closed, but he just avoids dealing with the preceding chapter, which includes this clear statement of God’s justice: “And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” [REV 20:15] The eternally open gates of the New Jerusalem come only after that judgment.

Mohler comments on Bell's Inclusive message and contrasts this with the straight forward message of the Bible regarding the Gospel specifically and generally the entirety of scripture:

"Bell clearly prefers inclusivism, the belief that Christ is saving humanity through means other than the Gospel, including other religions. But he mixes up his story along the way, appearing to argue for outright universalism on some pages, but backing off of a full affirmation. He rejects the belief that conscious faith in Christ is necessary for salvation, but he never clearly lands on a specific account of what he does believe.

"Tellingly, Bell attempts to reduce all of the Bible and the entirety of the Gospel to story, and he believes it is his right and duty to determine which story is better than another — which version of Christianity is going to be compelling and attractive to unbelievers. He has, after all, set that as his aim — to replace the received story with something he sees as better.

"The first problem with this is obvious. We have no right to determine which “story” of the Gospel we prefer or think is most compelling. We must deal with the Gospel that we received from Christ and the Apostles, the faith once for all delivered to the church. Suggesting that some other story is better or more attractive than that story is an audacity of breathtaking proportions. The church is bound to the story revealed in the Bible — and in all of the Bible … every word of it.

"But there is a second problem, and it is one we might think would have been learned by now. Liberalism just does not work. Bell wants to argue that the love of God is so powerful that “God gets what God wants.” So, God desires the salvation of all, he argues, so all will eventually be saved — some even after death, even long after death. But he cannot maintain that account for long because of his absolute affirmation of human autonomy. Even God cannot or will not prevent someone from going to hell who is determined to go there. So, if Bell is taken on his own terms, even he does not believe that 'God gets what God wants'.”

And if 'love wins' does that mean that holiness and justice lose? That would seem to be the implicated conclusion to Bell's writing, Mohler commments:
"Similarly, Bell’s argument is centered in his affirmation of God’s loving character, but he alienates love from justice and holiness. This is the traditional liberal line. Love is divorced from holiness and becomes mere sentimentality. Bell wants to rescue God from any teaching that his wrath is poured out upon sin and sinners, certainly in any eternally conscious sense. But Bell also wants God to vindicate the victims of murder, rape, child abuse, and similar evil. He seems not to recognize that he has undercut his own story, leaving God unable or unwilling to bring true justice."

Another 'Gospel' in Bell's Nutshell liberal theology -

"It begins in the sure and certain truth that we are loved. That in spite of whatever has gone horribly wrong deep in our hearts and has spread to every corner of the world, in spite of our sins, failures, rebellion, and hard hearts, in spite of what has been done to us or what we’ve done, God has made peace with us.

"Missing from his Gospel is any clear reference to Christ, any adequate understanding of our sin, any affirmation of the holiness of God and his pledge to punish sin, any reference to the shed blood of Christ, his death on the cross, his substitutionary atonement, and his resurrection, and, so tellingly, any reference to faith as the sinners response to the Good News of the Gospel. There is no genuine Gospel here. This is just a reissue of the powerless message of theological liberalism.

H. Richard Niebuhr famously once distilled liberal theology into this sentence:
“A God without wrath brought men without sin into a kingdom without judgment through the ministrations of a Christ without a cross.”

We wholeheartedly agree with Niebur's view of liberal theology!

Dr. Mohler's article drew the attention of Emergent writer and teacher, Brian McLaren. Here is the link to Mohler's response with quotes from McLaren himself:

Here are some gleanings from the above article:

Brian McLaren:
"Now communication is nearly always tricky, as any of us who are married or are parents know. The speaker has a meaning which is encoded in symbols (words) which then must be decoded by the receiver. That decoding process is subject to all kinds of static - for example, interference from the biases, fears, hopes, politics, vocabulary, and other characteristics of the receiver or the receiver’s community. If the receiver then tries to pass the meaning - as he has decoded it - on to others, there is more encoding and decoding, and more static. That’s why, with so much encoding and decoding and re-encoding going on, the challenge of communication across many cultural time zones is downright monumental."

Al Mohler:
"Communication is indeed “nearly always tricky,” but McLaren’s argument leads to interpretive nihilism. Can we really not know what the Gospel is? If this is true, the church is left with no coherent message at all. All of our attempts to define the right form of the Gospel are just human interpretations, he insists, and we must avoid “excessive confidence” in any telling of the Gospel story. McLaren warns that we must avoid “a naive and excessive confidence,” but that we can retain a “humble confidence.” But his argument leaves us with very little idea of how this “humble confidence” is to be found, since “no articulation of the gospel today can presume to be exactly identical to the original meaning Christ and the apostles proclaimed.”

That statement leaves us with only approximations of the Gospel — some presumably better, some worse. And we would in fact be left with nothing more precise or authoritative than that but for one thing — we have the Bible. We are absolutely dependent upon the New Testament way of telling the Gospel of Christ, and the apostles were determined to pass along the Gospel as a clear and understandable message to others. This is why Paul instructed Timothy to “follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus” and to “guard the good deposit entrusted to you.” [2 TIM 1:13-14]

If we cannot know what the Gospel is, then there is no such thing as the faith “once for all delivered to the saints.” [JUDE 3] If so, we have nothing definitive to say."

McLaren argues that the traditional understanding of hell presents a God who is not loving, even by human standards.
In his words:

"If a human father decided to throw his child in a fireplace for just ten seconds as punishment for disobedience, we wouldn’t fault the father simply for being unsentimental: we would say such behavior was unholy, an act of torture in violation of our most fundamental sense of justice. Any definition of justice and holiness that involves being unsatisfied unless the imperfect are suffering eternal agony seems to many of us as unworthy of a human being and if so, how much more unworthy of God whose justice must be better than our own."

Al Mohler:
"That argument is straightforward enough, and we need to look at it closely. The central problem with McLaren’s formulation is that such logic destroys any faithfulness to the totality of God’s self-revelation about himself. It presumes to judge God by human conceptions of love — and this is precisely what God himself rejects. He will not allow himself to be judged by humans. We simply do not have an adequate moral vantage point from which to make judgments about the character of God. We are, as in all things, utterly dependent upon God’s self-revelation and self-definition.

We do not know who God is by knowing what love is. We understand love by knowing who God is. But Brian McLaren seems quite ready to judge God by human standards of love and justice. In his most important book, A New Kind of Christianity, he rejects the Genesis account of God’s actions in the story of Noah, describing the story as “profoundly disturbing.” As he concluded, “In this light, a god who mandates an intentional supernatural disaster leading to unparalleled genocide is hardly worthy of belief, much less worship.” He responds to other texts in a similar way.

But God explicitly rejects such a human determination of his character. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord,” as the prophet Isaiah declared. [ISAIAH 55:8] Instead, God defines his loving character like this: “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” [ROMANS 5:8]

Its imperative that in the presentation of the Gospel, we must be quite clear that salvation is in the Person of Jesus Christ, and that a cognitive, explicit confession of the Savior on a personal level, a repentance from sin and a sinful lifestyle, and a surrender of our hearts and lives to Him as our new LORD and MASTER is required to complete the transaction of imputation by the Righteous LORD.

No one will be 'accidently' saved, or saved by some ambiguous assent to God in the Person of Jesus, or professing faith in Jesus while remaining Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, etc.

Whatever one was before coming to Christ, that is done away with where spiritual/religious matters are concerned and considered part of one's old life; the believer receives and embraces new life in Christ as His new creation!

2 COR 5:17-19 
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Rob Bell seems to declare that LOVE WINS no matter what, but in making such a declaration, he ignores the fact that there are eternal consequences for those who travel the broadway, those who are the children of disobedience, those who are children of darkness, and of whom no salvation is evident, for they bear no fruit to the glory of God the Father, and are therefore ineligible for heaven and eternal life, for without any fruit and genuine good works, there is no certainty for salvation. Of such the LORD declares Himself:

MATT 7:23 
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The love that could have been theirs to experience for an eternity is lost on those who refuse the LORD that offers it; indeed, that love is lost to them!
