Atheists and materialists may deny the spirit/soul nature of humanity, insisting that we are merely 'biological machines' living in a material, non-ethereal world, and evolving into higher, superior and more sophisticated biological life forms, but the truth of the matter (pun intended) is that we are beings created by God with a tri-une reality to our existence: we are body and soul (psuchos) and spirit (pneuma) according to 1 THESS 5:23.
The spirit of man was created by God with the intention of being His central dwelling place (PROV 20:27; ROM 8:9,11; 1 COR 6:19-20; EPH 3:17; note: for all practical purposes “heart” referenced in Ephesians is approximately synonymous to “spirit” with only some technical differences).
Due to the fall of mankind into a sinful state, the Spirit of the LORD cannot indwell man, and so his spirit is dormant or even dead at physical birth and in order to have meaningful interactions with God, the spirit must be regenerated (TITUS 3:5; cf. EZEK 18:31), “born again” as in JOHN 3:3-5 and 1 PET 1:23-25. Only by believing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and receiving salvation by faith can the Spirit of God dwell within us, bringing eternal life and peace.
Without the Spirit of God, unregenerate man, while still having the inner propensity for spiritual reality cannot sense or perceive spiritual truth, much less the Spirit of God. In order to meet this mysterious need that plagues us all, most people attempt to use carnal pleasures or even moral purpose to bring satisfaction when in reality this need is spiritual.
Ultimately however, such things will not and cannot satisfy; thus there are some who seek spiritual reality in religion, whether Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism or Christianity (in this case for what is called 'Christianity', the religious sense of the word).
Others seek out spiritual meaning in the nature religions of the world, such as shamanism or witchcraft and still others will delve into the various disciplines of the occult. All of these practices will incur interaction with spiritual reality, however, there is far more to this reality than God Himself alone.
ALIENS AMONG US?
Scripture reveals to us that we are not alone in the universe, a question that is asked today with near obsession and presented in countless films and TV shows, as well as books and magazines as they relate to the UFO phenomenon and it's associative idea of EBE's (Extra-terrestrial Biological Entities).
We have dealt with this subject matter in a comprehensive series of articles; you may review these beginning with the first article here.
Other related articles may be accessed by using the search engine on The RED PILL Consortium site and inputting “extra-terrestrials”.
However, the intelligent race of beings that I am referring to are not EBE's but non-corporeal intelligences which the Bible refers to as angels (forget the silly notions of winged man-like creatures complete with halos and harps!). These are powerful beings, most always invisible, yet can seemingly enter our reality and materialize at will.
We do not want to spend time at length on this topic, but for those who would like to understand a bit more about what the Bible has to say concerning angels (and their various ranks and purposes) you may do so by visiting this site (note that this author does not necessarily agree with everything found in this article).
A TALE OF TWO KINGDOMS –
One thing that must be understood is that of all the angelic race, about a third of them followed Lucifer in a rebellion against their Maker (REV 12:4) and in so doing, established a Second Order in the world – the kingdom of darkness as opposed to the kingdom of Light. The purpose of these kingdoms is centered around planet Earth and the souls of mankind. The kingdom of Light seeks the salvation of souls through its King, the LORD Jesus Christ; whereas the kingdom of darkness seeks to retain lost souls in it's own domain and use deception and enslavement of these to it's own cause.
Certainly the belief in UFO's of the alien sort is a ploy used by Satan to deceive mankind (and in the series of articles referred to just previously, this is the central theme presented) furthering its agenda towards a global new world order (that is, the second order instituted by Lucifer at his rebellion against God's First Order as He created it).
Yet Satan has a varied ensemble of evil in his reprehensible repertoire of deception; he and the fallen angels loyal to his cause have introduced certain arcane and secret (“occult”) knowledge to man, promising him his own power of 'godhood' while in actuality bringing him into deeper and darker enslavement and bondage than is typical for the every day man who, though he may not engage in such activities – since he is not a member of the kingdom of Light – he is by default a member of the kingdom of darkness, and thus still enslaved to that darkness and to sin.
The serpent (Satan) of GENESIS 3 promised knowledge to Eve - “to know good and evil” and her own godhood. Yet as we know, what transpired was not a transcendence into a higher reality, but a ruinous fall into sin and death.
Later, the fallen race of man, in rebellion to the command of the LORD to “go forth and multiply” rallied together in the central location known as the Tower of Babel (literally “gateway to God” or “gateway to the gods”). I believe it was here that this 'secret knowledge' was codified and endorsed as the religion of Babylon.
In the book of Revelation, we read about the nature of spiritual Babylon and observe her titles:
MOTHER DEAREST –
REVELATION 17:3-5
3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.
Note vs. 5 and one of the titles of this 'woman' - “the Mother of Harlots”. In the Bible a harlot is often used to convey the idea of false religion and practices not intended by the LORD for mankind to engage in, much less the nation of Israel which nonetheless did so (JERE 3:1,6,8). Yet this Babylon system is referred to not merely as a harlot, but the Mother of harlots, or the origin of false religious disciplines; one could easily include esoteric and, or secret societies which have various spiritual beliefs incorporated into their systems.
Also note the other title of “Mystery” - musterion in the Greek; meaning a secret or hidden knowledge revealed. Babylon was indeed the haven for hellish and dark secrets that they were willing to share with mankind in exchange for certain uses of their women.
At the Tower of Babel, God understood that if this heinous union were allowed to continue, mankind would acquire greater and deeper occult knowledge, and thus more irreparable entanglements with demonic entities, until they would be quite beyond turning back.
Thus He decided to disperse humanity by confusing the language of the people – this resulted in precisely that: people grouped together according to their common language and settled in different parts of the world, and in so doing, the nations were born as recorded in GENESIS 10; 11, often referred to as The Table of Nations
These various tribes of people brought with them their occult beliefs and practices where ever they settled. This is why we may observe, as we trace esoteric and occult beliefs across the globe, that the many similarities we see, overlap and parallel in their dogma.
For an excellent series on the historical aspect of this occult progression across the globe, see this video entitled "Babylon" (Part 4) by The FUEL Project, entitled KNOW YOUR ENEMY and the subsequent videos (PART 5-10).
DABBLING IN THE DEMONIC –
Let us be clear in this matter: whether one is dabbling in horoscopes or ouija boards, these practices of divination (gaining knowledge by arcane and, or mystical means), incantations, scrying, channeling (previously known as necromancy) or other such things, one is dealing with demonic entities, that while promising and to limited degree, providing power and knowledge, only bring the souls thus interacting with them into bondage or ruinous destruction, and finally to the perdition of hell.
It is with the utmost of serious admonition that this author warns the reader against involving themselves with the occult; should one do so, they may not encounter and suffer demonic influences, but the likelihood is, that they will.
Should such influences lead to oppression or even worse, possession, there is yet hope for deliverance from these baneful spirits, and we will address this before this series ends.
Here are five cases in which persons were reportedly possessed by demonic entities; I leave the reader to determine if these are real or not; in any event, the Bible testifies of the truth of their existence and the phenomena of demonic possession. This author believes that he has indeed encountered people under the influence of demonic spirits.
Two films produced, The Exorcist and The Exorcism of Emily Rose are based on actual documented cases of demonic possession.
In the case of The Exorcist (the book written by William Blatty), the child (under the pseudonym of Roland Doe) was given a Ouija Board by an aunt whom was very dear to the boy; she was a Spiritualist that encouraged Roland to experiment with the board. She eventually died, and “ . . . it took a major toll on him. Distraught, he did what she would have done and tried to communicate with her using the Ouija board.
“Shortly after, the Doe family started experiencing odd things around their home. Pictures fell from the walls. Furniture moved around on its own. Doors closed. Doe also started violently acting out. The family brought in all of the doctors they could, but no one could find anything physically wrong with the boy. With no one else to call, they reached out to their pastor, Reverend Luther Miles Schulze, who brought Doe to his house to evaluate him, which ended with the boy’s room destroyed by unknown forces.”
Walter Martin, Christian apologist and authority on cults and occult, wrote in his book, The Kingdom of the Occult, about a case study in which he was an active participant. While speaking at a church, he was approached that evening by a man who sought his help with a young woman, a professing Christian, who seemed to display symptoms of demonic influence.
He agreed to accompany the man to a motel where they would meet with other Christians along with this young woman. As they pulled into the parking lot, Walter felt a definite sense of something evil; this sensation escalated as they pulled into a parking slot next to another car where the young woman was waiting.
Walter left the car and approached the identified woman and began talking with her; she told him that she was unable to get out of the car. He replied that if she did, they could help her rid herself of the demons.
Eventually she worked up enough will power to get out of the car and into the motel room.
Within the span of a couple hours, the Christian men came to the conclusion that this poor woman was possessed by a host of demonic spirits. One of the people in the group, a psychologist who did not believe in demonic possession at the beginning of this experience, came to firmly believe. He helped three other grown men who could barely hold the woman down as she thrashed and growled, making threats. During the process the sense of horrible, near palpable evil filled the room.
At the name of Jesus the demonic spirits were commanded to leave, and every time Walter spoke out, the woman lunged partway off the bed, and another spirit was exorcised. One of the voices coming from the woman said with a bizarre, twisted smile on her face, “We can outlast you . . .”
Eventually the woman was cleansed of the demons, and she was restored to her life, became a blessing to her husband, and a nurturing mother. Later she explained that she had been praying to God for needs, that were never met; as a result, she turned to Satan for help, and that began her horrific journey into the demonic. (This excerpt is paraphrased and based on the case study as found in The Kingdom of the Occult, pages 33-36 in Chapter Two, The Occult Revolution.
MYSTERY RELIGIONS – RENAMED
The occult knowledge that sprang from the Tower of Babel and spread across the globe developed into esoteric societies, secret societies and what was known as the Mystery Religions.
KNOW YOUR ENEMY – (Part 8: The MYSTERIES)
From there, in the 19th and 20th centuries, the Theosophical Society with Madame Helena Blavatsky and Alice Bailey as its matriarchal leaders kept and promoted ancient esoteric knowledge. It was Alice Bailey that coined the term “New Age” and the New Age movement came into public domain in the 1970's and '80's. Today its referred to as The New Spirituality. What is so telling is that there are some Emergent Church leaders who call for none other than “a new spirituality” such as Brian McLaren .
Mysticism is part and parcel of the Emergent Church movement, mainly because they reject Christ of the Bible, the Bible itself as the literal Word of God, and thus bereft of the Holy Spirit. They must have some form of spirituality (“a form of godliness” 2 TIM 3:5) and therefore resort to the Spiritual Formation Movement and contemplative prayer.
Once again, it was the pronouncement of Alice Bailey that “the church” would have a part to play in welcoming 'The Christ' (read that, anti-Christ), having already been prepared by “change agents” who would do their part in transforming the church by steering it away from biblical truth and establishing it on esoterical and mystery knowledge and practices.
“If men look for the Christ Who left His disciples centuries ago, they will fail to recognize the Christ Who is in process of returning” (Alice Bailey & Djwhal Khul Alice Bailey & Djwhal Khul, The Reappearance of the Christ, Chapter III – World Expectancy).
“Benjamen Creme who is the voice of proclamation for the new Christ says, The Master Jesus is going to reform the Christian churches” (Benjamen Creme, Reappearance of the Christ, p. 85).
“This reform means “change.” When you look at the mysticism now taking place inside the church along with practices of other religions being added, one cannot also think about this prophecy by Alice Bailey:
“This Church will be nurtured into activity by the Christ and His disciples when the outpouring of the Christ principle, the TRUE second Coming has been accomplished… the Christian church in its many branches can serve as a nucleus through which world illumination may be accomplished… the church as a teaching factor should take the great basic doctrines and (shattering the old forms in which they are expressed and held) show their true and inner spiritual significance. … Teachers must be trained; Bible knowledge must be spread; the sacraments must be mystically interpreted, and the power of the church to heal must be demonstrated” (Alice Bailey, The Externalization of the Hierarchy, 1957, Lucis Publishing*).”
*formerly known as the Lucifer Publishing Company.
It is worthy to note that The Externalization of the Hierarchy is one of about two dozen books that Alice Baily wrote as an amanuensis: she channeled them through her spirit guide 'Tibetan Master' Djwhal Khul and other spirits (read that, demons).
The above quote was taken from the article, The Ripening - Planet Earth Welcomes Maitreya? from LET US REASON ministries.
Dire warnings were issued to the church in the early 1980's by Dave Hunt and T.A. McMahon (The Berean Call ministries) regarding the approaching infiltration of the New Age movement into the church. Due to his books and lectures, the biblical churches learned, and steered clear of this “Seduction of Christianity” while the denominational churches (primarily, having no sure foundation in the Word of God) were easy prey to the “seducing spirits and doctrines of demons” (1 TIM 4:1).
Where the New Age failed to corral the biblical churches, some decades later, The Emergent Church Movement did, and continues to do so. It is this author's belief that the Emergent Church is 'New Age Light – fewer calories'! And that this movement was engineered and orchestrated by the Roman Catholic Church, specifically, the Jesuit Order.
For those who are watching, through the lens of prophetic Scripture, we can see that all the world is coalescing into a unified whole, 1) politically, 2) economically and 3) religiously. There is the one factor, this author believes, that will bring one-ness into this triad of human existence, and that is, mysticism and it's empowerment, the mystical practices of meditation that beckons demonic spirits to roost in human hearts.
Here we shall end part One of this series. In the next part, we shall start to examine various occult practices, underscoring their dangers, emphasizing their perilous potency and demonstrating their demonic sources. Until then, those of you who are children of God (JOHN 1:12-13), rejoice and give thanks that we have been delivered from such darkness and slavery! For those who are not God's children, I pray that you take these admonitions seriously and consider the Gospel of salvation.
